The GRS (Global Recycled Standard) label certifies that our yarns are made from 100% recycled polyester obtained from the reuse of PET bottles. It verifies not only this recycled raw material, but also its traceability, and the implementation of responsible social, environmental, and chemical practices in production. The RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) label certifies that Lafayette fabrics made from recycled polyester chips are produced under a system of verification and custody that begins with the receipt of raw materials and ends with delivery to the final customer.

These fabrics for hotel and restaurant uniforms carry the OEKO-TEX STD 100 label, which guarantees that the fabrics are safe for direct contact with the skin, protecting people’s health and the environment.
We can do some simple math to show how these fabrics promote and create incentives for recycling PET bottles. For example, the average shirt used by a company’s sales person uses the equivalent of nine 600 ml PET bottles. If the sales force needs 2,000 shirts per year, using these fabrics would lead to recycling 18,000 bottles. Considering that it is now possible to use these fabrics in a variety of garments such as jackets, pants, aprons, and chef and restaurant uniforms, can you imagine how many bottles would be recycled if all uniforms were made with sustainable fabrics?
